I have been lurking here for a while, but just joined.
This will be my first time creating MMS, and I plan on following the origial receipe.
My biggest question right now is which is better to use as an activator, citric acid or HCL?
I see that most people are advocating for the usage of HCL, as it is gentler when it comes to nausea and vomiting (if I understood correctly). However, it is tough finding it where I currently live. I only have HCL 16% at home, but I am unsure whether it is good enough to use.. Has anyone used less than 35%? Does it work?
Alternatively, I can get citric acid in my hands much easier, but I read on this post that 50% is excessive, and 33% is thought as ideal.
mmsforum.io/general/32258-hydrochloric-acid-vs-citric-acid#60467
Thoughts on that? Anyone has tried the 33% concentration?
On a side note, the receipe says to use distilled water, but is filtered water alright to use?
I am mostly concerned about getting too nauseus. I understand it is part of the process, but I would like to be prepared and clear up the confusion before I start mixing things.
I am trying to treat chronic IBS and fungal overgrowth on my skin (causing mostly hair loss), and I am not too sure what I should be expecting.
All advice is welcome and much appreciated.

My first post here too, been doing a lot of research into this but I'm very much a beginner
I wish I'd been as patient as you are and researched this some more. Right now I would personally recommend using HCL over Citric Acid as I've been suffering with nausea a lot using citric acid. It's not the same for everyone though and JH doesn't seem to have a bias either way from what I've read. YMMV
From what I've read in JH book, its the flouride and chlorine that are the issue with tap water and a water filter won't remove these. I think you should get some bottled mineral water ideally
I'm gonna post more of my experiences in a thread in a sec, just so i'm not hijacking yours! Good luck in finding what you're after, Kara

Add 60ml of 16% HCL to 180ml of clean water and you will have 240ml (8 fl oz) of 4% HCL.

I have been researching for a while, but my poor brain can absorb as much, so I thought I would jump right in and start asking.
Did you use 50% citric acid? If so, did you start with the 1/4 drop starting protocol? When did the nausea subside?
I understand every person reacts to it differently, but I still would like to gather some information, so any expereinces are welcome.
Thank you for the recommendation, I will use bottle water and see how it goes.

Thank you so much!
One more question. I have seen suggested that the lower the % of HCL, the least pure it is. Do you find this to be worrisome, or see no difference?

If you make CDS using 4% HCL, there won't be any MMS or HCL in the CDS water. You can use citric acid acid to make CDS; CA won't be in the final product.
What grade is your 16% HCL?

Should diluted HCL be stored in an amber glass bottle as well?
So, CDS can be made from both, and no traces of HCL or CA will be left in the final result, correct?

We use technical grade sodium chlorite (NaCLO2) flakes to make MMS and don't seem to have problems with that grade when making MMS1 or CDH. There is residual MMS and probably acid activator in both MMS1 and CDH, but not in CDS. MMS1 is MMS 10% activated when made and CDH is 50% activated. CDS only contains CLO2 gas.
Because only chlorine dioxide gas (CLO2) should be in CDS, that may be your best choice if impurities are a concern.
Diluted HCL can be stored in clear glass bottles if kept out of light. I also store MMS in clear bottles that are kept in a pantry. I want to be able to see the liquid color which I could not do if kept in colored bottles. Be careful about bottle caps. Some will not withstand fumes from MMS and HCL. Never use glass dropper caps that have rubber bulbs except to measure drops. For storage, use regular caps.
Note that 4% HCL will stain stainless steel kitchen sinks! You should see my sink.

I read the starting procedure protocol, but it doesn't mention whether it is preferable to drink on an empty stomach or not. Does it matter much?
Also, what is one advised to do after day 5? One drop per day, or is that after all health issues have been diminished?
Just today I bought an amber bottle with rubber bulb! Good thing I didn't get more before seeing your reply.
Thankfully, my kitchen sink is not stainless steel, so I guess I'm safe from my mother's wrath.
Apologies for asking so many questions, and thank you for taking the time to explain all this, I appreciate it very much.

On day 5, you begin following Protocol 1000 at 1 drop hourly doses for 8 consecutive hours.
Eating suggestions are in Jim's book.
Continue following the HRP until your health is recovered.

Importance of Stomach Acid

You have heard it said, “You are what you eat”, but in my opinion, it’s more accurate to say “You are what you absorb.” Stomach acid plays an important role in what nutrients you absorb from the food you eat.
