CDS protocol for kitty with FIP virus, HELP!

I gave the CDS to kitty this morning with the syringe but I can tell she is not doing well today...didn't eat her breakfast. That's the first time... and the clouds are forming in the skies. I'm taking her to the vet this morning to see if the he can take some of the fluid out of her tummy area. BTW this vet have not charged me a penny when I visited him last with kitty and he is totally open to the MMS protocol.

I think that MMS came a little too late for kitty...even though I had the MMS with me I didn't think of giving it to her. I thought she looked so healthy when she came to us at 7 weeks but now I have learned and I'm giving it to my Golden Retriever. In retrospect, kitty was growing that belly for a couple of months now. She may be going 'home' sooner than anticipated ... but we are giving her tons of love, nurturing, and keeping our hopes up. Live, learn and share.

Don't beat yourself up on slow reaction on starting MMS - we are trained from birth to expect "experts" to solve medical situations - it takes a while to realize we have a treatment in the cupboard.

Also don't give up on treating kitty - I turned a cow around who was heading for death from mastitis.

The shelf-life of MMS really depends on storage. It will degrade in sunlight very quickly - but stored in the dark - it can last for several years. If when activated it turns dark brown/orange and smells of chlorine - it's still good.

That's a very good point. When I activated my MMS it turned dark brown/orange and smelled like chlorine so that's good news. However, now that you mentioned that I may have to order new botles. I bought the MMS and 50% Citric Acid bottles from Keavy's Corner and came in white opaque bottles that don't let the light in. I have kept them in a dark cool place.

Good news! Vet was able to drain quite a bit of kitty's fluid and she came home and started eating again...now giving herself a huge bath. Vet said "continue to do the protocol that if this thing works it's because of what I'm doing and not his draining."

Keeping my finger's crossed...the sun came out!

Thank you for the link to Steve's post. Good to know I have the correct solution of 22.4%.

By a miracle I received my chlorine dioxide PPM test strips today. So I tested my CDS solution immediately (1 ml CDS + 9 ml water) inserted test strip and counted to 6 seconds. I tested it twice (w fresh strip) and it tested between 10 and 25 PPM ...which is very low, right?

So I need to make the CDS solution again. Last week I used Jim Humble's CDS instructions with 24 drops of MMS (22.4%) activated with 24 drops (50 %) citric acid into a 8 oz distilled water. Should I double it? It took about 45 minutes boiling the activated 24 drops for the CDS to test 25 ppm.

If the standard CDS solution is 3,000 ppm what does my 25 ppm means, 250? Should I try 1 oz (30 ml) MMS to 1 oz 50% citric acid into an 8 oz distilled water instead? Now I'm all confused. The range on the test strip bottle goes from 1 to 500. I'm at 25, but should be testing at 250 ppm, right?

No, I'm not giving up treating kitty. Great to hear you saved your cow! That's a big animal to save. Congratulations! Love to hear these stories.

To me it means you are very close. Please someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe you need to add 2 zeros to the 25 so you would have 2500 which is quite close to 3000. But I could easily be wrong. Not good at this math. Here is a link of Jim Humble making CDS quickly. I use this method at it has always worked well for me and is quick.


If you are testing way low I would just give the needed additional CDS in her dose. Example if at 1000 then just triple her dose. Goodness if she was hanging on at this low a dose a normal dose might do her well! Just a thought though. If you are at 1000 ppm I would just double it the 1st dose or 2 then move up to triple so you are at proper strength and see how she does.

To test your CDS, you place 1ml of cds into 30 ml of water. stir, just a bit (to be sure it gets into the 30ml), and then slip the test strip in. It should read 100. (and 30ml x 100ppm = 3000ppm per liter)

I've always found the overnight method easier to do than the stovetop method.

I started doubling the dose to 2 ml every 1-2 hours since yesterday morning.

I have watched this video of Jim Humble making CDS several times. This is a good way to make 1 liter bottle (8 times 4 oz drink for the whole day). However, I wanted to make a strong enough CDS for making kitty's dosages. To me the boiling method is easier and efficient plus I didn't want to get the gas into my mouth or make another hole into the nipple. Here in this video the goal is to get the PPM betwee 30 to 50, but now Pam is saying that it should shoot for 100ppm.

I will do a new batch of CDS today now that I have the test strips. This time I'll do one ounce of MMS to one ounce of 50% citric acid activator then shoot for 30-50 or 100PPM? Which one?

Pam, I thought to test the CDS I need 1ml of CDS into 9ml of water... but you said 30ml of water. Did you mean to say 9ml? I thought I have seen a video of Jim Humble testing it with 1ml CDS and 9ml water. Please advice.

The overnight method does look easier to me but I haven't done it yet and I don't want to mess up now. Need to make my batch pronto.

30ml. is what I said. This is just for testing the strength of the CDS.
