Purifying swimming pool water with activated MMS

I am very interested in the possible use of Chlorine Dioxide for purifying my swimming pool water.

The subject doesn't seem to have been covered here before, although please point out if it has...

I'm very anti-chlorine when it comes to my swimming pool. I currently use copper to purify my pool water but I'm not convinced that it's "well enough purified" by the copper solution.

I was wondering if I could use CDS as a shock treatment, say once a week, to keep the water healthy for my kids. And if so, what quantity would be needed? Any thoughts most welcome!

Pool shock is MMS2 -Re MMS/CDS - straight chlorine dioxide will offgas quickly over 51F, so you may not get the benefits you're looking for.

Using Calcium hypochlorite, however, the chlorine might react with the copper solution though? This is my worry. Although I do recall Jim Humble saying something about the chlorine not being available.

Yes, according to jim humble there is no available chlorine in calcium hypochlorite.

I cannot speak to whether the calcium hypochlorite will oxidize the copper - for sure, MMS could have.

While in CA on vacation I swam in a pool that was treated with Ozone. They did not use any chlorine or chemicals. The water was crystal clear. From what I hear ozone for pool water is pretty common in Europe.
