unfiltered apple cider vinegar

hi all

jim says that if you cant use citric acid for one reason or another then its ok to use unfiltered apple cider vinegar as the activator.

what i am not clear about is whether he means one drop mms to one drop acv or is it one drop mms to 5 drops acv.

i am unable to get 4%hc(cant find supplier in uk and informed that some overseas cant get it to me because of flying regs ?)l so am wondering if acv will do the same job.

i have just had an email saying i can get it on ebay (hcl) i have looked at it but am not sure if it is the one to buy. here is what they say

Hydrochloric acid is a solution of hydrogen chloride (HCl) in water, that is a highly corrosive,strong mineral acid with many industrial uses. It is found naturally in gastric acid.

Hand and eye protection are essential when using this chemical.

Material hazard data sheets are available on request.

Nitric acid can be mixed with Hydrochloric acid (1:3 by volume) to form Aqua Regia. This is the only acid that will dissolve Gold and can be used in Gold recovery or refining.

it sounds very scary and if it is the right product i would not have a clue as to how to dilute and would need a lot of help, as since my illnesses my brain doesnt operate in full mode. which is very frustrating for me as i used to teach, but trying to understand figures now my brain goes into melt down. its one of the reasons i am hoping mms will help with.

Hi Jeffers,
It's a worse activator than lemon juice but if you want to use it, it would be at least 5 drops to 1 drop of MMS. Since it's such a poor activator though, you'd probably want to use even up to 10 drops to 1.

If you do use it, I'd recommend making it CDH style - in a closed bottle and use warm or even hot water to begin with to help encourage the activation process. If you did use the CDH method you would use a recipe like this and put the ingredients in the bottle in this order too:

180ml hot water
10ml MMS
50ml Vinegar (or more - if more, reduce water by the same amount increased so you still end up with 240ml when you add all the ingredients up)
Cap it tightly and let it sit for 12 hours. Then refrigerate for 2 hours before using.

Citric acid would be much better. I would think you could find that somewhere in the UK.
